O.J. ADMITS IT

This whole situation has taken a significant toll on the American public. There was uproar, followed by outrage. Finally, a sense of defeated resignation as we accepted our part in helping usher in this brave new world. But then something unexpected and altogether miraculous happened:

Justice arrived. In the form of an admission.

That’s right. The O.J. we knew and loved – Tropicana – admitted consumers were right and will return to older packaging. Evidently, consumer testing did not reveal the emotional connection and ease of use in their former color-coded boxes. Consumer backlash was swift and fierce, but the most shocking part is that PepsiCo will undo their FAIL – unlike other PepsiCo rebrands that left people scratching their heads.

I was never a fan of the redesign, but I’m surprised and encouraged to see how nimbly they’ll reverse course. As the NYT article above mentions, it can only help companies to become more agile in their response to consumer feedback.

Now pass me the G: Bring It!
