Context Over Dogma

The engineers at BMW take reinvention seriously.
For proof, I offer the BMW GINA, a car whose exterior is made entirely of fabric. Since nearly none of a car’s safety features involve the metal exterior, why not make the entire car leagues lighter with a replaceable skin? We may never see this in standard consumer production, but the application may have some incredible future uses.
Speaking of innovative ideas, BMW has co-opted TED onto their website (no doubt to associate themselves with “new thinking”).
