Gallows, Orchestra Of Wolves
Written on February 20, 2008

Breakneck speed. Throat-tearing vocals. More repressed anger than a Republican with confiscated guns. UK’s Gallows bull-rushed my future hearing levels late last year when I heard their Live BBC Sessions. I searched everywhere for their Epitaph album, and holy crap does it impress. I place this album’s adrenaline level somewhere between a donkey punch to the chest and accidentally walking into traffic. Orchestra is a visceral experience in hardcore that’s at once thrilling (“Abandon Ship”), funny (“Come Friendly Bombs”), and a little frightening (“In The Belly Of A Shark”). They really have a way with a song title – and yes, “Will Someone Shoot That Fucking Snake” is as awesome as it sounds.
